Checking in to Create Powerful Hotel Pre-opening Messages

More than ever in 2016, Check-in Asia has been donning our hard hats to work with new pre-opening hotel clients. The Check-in Asia onsite consultation service is proving popular with hotels and resorts looking to launch their property with refined, powerful and on-brand messaging.

IMG_6960The pre-opening of a hotel is an exciting and dynamic part of the project. Multiple teams and departments work around the clock to meet myriad deadlines. Marketing and PR teams are often juggling how to capture both group-wide brand messages and unique, localised USPs. This process is made harder as many of the hotel’s key features are subject to revision and adaptation even at this late stage.

Check-in Asia provides a fresh perspective. Our experienced hotel content and marketing experts possess a diverse background in travel, lifestyle and business media – and proven experience of working with the world’s leading hospitality brands. We understand how best to communicate both the big picture and the finer details in engaging ways, and to help all the different departments get onto the same page, literally.

We visit each hotel for a full site inspection and discussions with key management. Whilst on site, we can also rigorously test out new facilities and amenities to ensure they are ready for discerning leisure and business guests.

On Location in Hainan and Shanghai

Earlier this year, Check-in IMG_5615Asia flew to Hainan Island, China’s tropical vacation getaway, to visit the beautiful oceanfront resort, Grand Hyatt Sanya Haitang Bay. We explored how the indigenous culture and designs of local fishing tribes have been woven into the interior spaces, dining and spa experiences for an authentically inspired resort that stands apart in a competitive luxury market. We also helped position the new-concept Kids’ Club and specially designed children’s guestrooms at the pinnacle of family resort travel.

For InterContinental Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), we were invited into the world’s largest building – shaped like a four-leaf clover. The deluxe hotel seeks to entice corporate guests to China’s premier exhibitions venue while also establishing the new Hongqiao CBD as a desirable destination for showpiece dining and special events. Our deep understanding of the city geography, business culture and the local, national and regional MICE and leisure markets helped the property to achieve the precise messaging balance they sought.

By speaking with key members of every department, Check-in Asia is able to curate marketing messages and ideas and devise compelling angles of interest for the media. We then craft engaging, inspiring and interactive content for opening press kits, advertising, websites and social media campaigns – enabling the operations teams to do what they do best: successfully open their beautiful new hotel.
